Connecting your systems

What would it cost to connect the software we already run?

A simple guide to what shapes the cost of connecting your tools, before you ask for a number.

Concept guideApplies to Any owner-operated business

Short answer

It depends on a few things, and none of them is a number we can put on a page. What shapes the cost is whether your software can be reached at all, how much you want connected, and who runs the connection over time. Some tools have a clean path and connect quickly. Some need more work. We scope it to your setup rather than sell a package. For an actual figure, the next step is a conversation.

An owner who wants to understand what connecting their tools would involve before getting on a call, so the conversation starts from a real picture.

  • A list of the software you actually run, and which of it you would want connected.
  • A sense of the questions you want answered, since that sets how much needs to be reached.
  • A view of who would operate the connection day to day.
  1. Can the tool be reached. A cloud tool with an API connects one way. An on-premise tool with an export connects another. A tool with neither needs a supported path first, and sometimes there is not one yet. This is the biggest single factor.
  2. How much you want connected. One system for one person is a small scope. Several systems, several people, and fine-grained permissions is a larger one. Cost tracks scope.
  3. Who runs it over time. A hosted copy and a gateway are running services. Someone operates them, updates them, and keeps them working. That ongoing part is real and worth naming up front.

It can

  • Show you what actually drives the cost, so a quote later makes sense.
  • Help you come to the conversation with the right facts about your systems.

It cannot (on a web page)

  • Give you a figure. Pricing is set with you, and we are not going to guess it on a web page.
  • Promise every tool can be connected. Some have no supported path yet, and we will tell you that plainly.

Because the honest number depends on your systems, and we would rather scope it than post a figure that would be wrong for most readers. The three factors above, reachability, scope, and who operates it, are what a quote is built from, and we set that figure with you rather than guess it in public.

EvidenceSupported capability under gate

The cost drivers above come straight from how these connections actually work: the reachability of a tool, the scope of what is connected, and the ongoing job of running a copy and a gateway. Those are the same factors behind the connection in production on The Edge, which we last verified running on August 27, 2026. What we do not do is attach a number to them here. The figure is set with you once we have scoped your setup.
