Can Claude answer questions from ClientBook?
A simple, owner-level walkthrough for stores that run ClientBook alongside The Edge: what reaches Claude, how, and what stays out of reach.
Short answer
Yes, for the part of ClientBook that flows through The Edge. ClientBook stamps its opportunity and pipeline data into The Edge, and Claude reads it through the same Edge connection we already run, read-only and as of the last export. There is no direct ClientBook connection. What reaches this way is the stamped opportunity and pipeline data, plus touchpoints and wishlists, not everything in ClientBook. Read-only as we run it today.
Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”An owner who keeps clienteling in ClientBook and runs the store on The Edge, and wants a faster read on their pipeline without a separate ClientBook connection to build.
What you need first
Section titled “What you need first”- The Edge running in your store, with its scheduled export enabled. That export is the path.
- ClientBook in use alongside The Edge, stamping its opportunity and pipeline data into The Edge.
- A Claude account for each person who will ask questions.
- The access you want each role to have, decided up front.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- ClientBook stamps into The Edge. Your ClientBook opportunity and pipeline data is written into The Edge as you work, alongside touchpoints and wishlists.
- The Edge export carries it. That stamped data rides the same scheduled Edge export we already run. There is no separate ClientBook connection.
- The AI reads it through the Edge gateway. Claude reads the exported data through the secure gateway we run for The Edge, read-only and as of the last export, with per-person permissions.
- What reaches, and what does not. The stamped opportunity and pipeline data, touchpoints, and wishlists reach this way. ClientBook’s native store, its in-app messages and native fields, does not come through The Edge and stays out of reach.
What it can and cannot do
Section titled “What it can and cannot do”It can
- Search the stamped records to find and surface opportunities in your pipeline, as of the last export.
- Reach the touchpoints and wishlists that stamp into The Edge, as far as your permissions allow.
- Run from the Claude a person already uses, through the Edge connection you already have.
It cannot (as we run it today)
- Reach ClientBook's native store. In-app messages and native ClientBook fields do not come through The Edge.
- Reproduce the content of a message. It can find and surface opportunities by searching the stamped records, not read a conversation back to you.
- Write back, or answer about the current minute. Read-only as we run it today, and as current as the last export.
What ClientBook data can it reach?
Section titled “What ClientBook data can it reach?”The part that stamps into The Edge: your opportunity and pipeline data, plus touchpoints and wishlists. That is a subset of ClientBook, not the whole of it. ClientBook’s native clienteling store, including its in-app messages and native fields, does not travel through The Edge, so it is not reachable this way.
Can it read my customer messages?
Section titled “Can it read my customer messages?”No. The stamped records carry searchable text, so Claude can find and surface an opportunity by searching them, but it does not reproduce the content of a message or read a conversation back to you. Finding that a follow-up is due is not the same as retrieving what was said, and this connection does the first, not the second.
How current is it?
Section titled “How current is it?”As of the last export. The ClientBook data reaches through the same scheduled Edge export as everything else, so an answer reflects the last export, not the live state of ClientBook. Ask for the data cutoff on anything time-sensitive.
How we know
Section titled “How we know”EvidenceSupported capability under gate
ClientBook stamps its opportunity and pipeline data into The Edge, and the AI reads it through the same connection we run in production on The Edge, which we last verified running on August 27, 2026. This is a capability that verified Edge connection supports: what reaches is the stamped subset, not ClientBook’s whole dataset, and we describe only what actually comes through the export rather than the full product.
